November in Review: New York City

The rest of the trip was just amazing!!! We went to Mary Poppins, this was my first time going to a musical (everyone can "gasp" now..hehe). It was pretty cool, I'm sure I'll be seeing another one soon enough. I just don't believe Ray will be going, he's just not into that. We all went to the American Girl Store, that place has 4 floors!!! We visited the 9-11 Memorial, it is a beautiful place. I left there with a heavy heart after seeing all those names listed.

Here are a few snaps from the rest of the trip.....

November in Review: Veteran's Day Parade

I got the opportunity to travel with Jessica & Chaz to New York City. They had been invited to attend the Veteran's Day Parade and that was also near Jessica's birthday so they decided to make it a little vacation. They asked me to come along to watch the girls while they attended the taping of Dr. Oz's show and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart since children are not allowed in the audience. Of course, I was happy to go and help out. I love New York City, its an amazing city! This was my second time going  there, the first time my husband and I went there for our vacation. Coming from a small town, seeing all those huge buildings just kinda blows your mind. If you haven't been to New York City, please do visit!

Being able to participate in the Veteran's Day Parade was the best expierence I do believe I have ever had. I even got teary eyed seeing all the support from everyone for these Veterans! It was breathtaking and I was happy to be apart of it.

October In Review....

I've been slacking on my blogging so now its time to get back to it. Hopefully, I'll be back to doing it daily or at least daily. :)

October was a great month, I simply adore fall!!! I had the honor of attending SPC. Kurtz homecoming at Outlaw Field in Clarksville, TN. SPC. Kurtz was like Chaz, he wasn't able to get the welcome home like his fellow soldiers received. SPC. Kurtz was injured and had been recovering at Walter Reed. So this day was just awesome!!! I had never met SPC. Kurtz but it was an honor shaking his hand that day and saying Thank You! Jessica & Chaz could not be there because Chaz was still having therapy at Walter Reed. So, Jessica's mom and I went to represent Team Allen!! If you have never attended a homecoming for a soldier, please attend one the next time you hear about it. It is the best feeling you will ever have!!!
Here are a few snaps from that day.....

Ray & I were able to fly to DC to see Chaz in the Army 10 Miler on October 9, 2011. This was so awesome to be there and see Chaz cross the finish line! He was just injured on Jan. 22, 2011 and here he was training and finishing the Army 10 Miler!!!!! Chaz finished the race in 41:06, pretty freakin cool considering this was his first race!! Chaz also raised the most money for the Fisher House Foundation. I believe he raised $10,000! Way to Go Chaz!!!
