Day 29 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful for Pintrest!!!! Man the ideas that you can gather on that site! Anything from photography to crafty ideas! Shoot, I could totally rebuild my house with all the pins I had! I've since made a list of the crafty projects I want to do and plan to start them next week. Alot of them have to do with my office! Yesterday, I decided to spray paint a wreath along with the letter "H".

Here is the finished product! I haven't hanged it yet, I still need to secure the "H" and fix the ribbon, but plan on having that done this weekend.

Here is the link if you would like to do your own. I did decide to put the "H" in a different place. http://sweetdaisydesigns.blogspot.com/2011/11/wreath-update.html

Catching Up On Being Thankful...Again!

I am a little behind once again, so here we go.....

Day 24: Finally getting to go see Breaking Dawn!!!!!! It was pretty good! I won't go into details, but if you haven't seen it go watch it!!! It was great catching up with an old friend.

Day 25: Thankful for those who like their own Facebook status....you can tell they really "like" what they are posting if they "like" their own status. ;) Makes me giggle when I see it.

Day 26: My crazy dog Eva, it seems she loves to play with rocks. Not to mention chew up her bed and even the portable dog house she was in. Oh and lets not forget the rocking chairs on our front porch!!!

Day 27: Waking up on early mornings, only to want to crawl back into the bed for a few more minutes.

Day 22 & 23 of Being Thankful

Day 22: Today I am thankful for being around family! Its always so much fun being around them all for Thanksgiving. We spend the day stuffing our faces and watching football. Well, usually I'm over in a chair reading a book I'm not really a football fan at all. Ray usually takes his gun up to do some shooting, getting it ready for gun season to open up for hunting. Thankfully we haven't went deaf yet as it is pretty darn loud. This year was quite funny as we took up a Turducken (Turkey, duck & chicken). It was too funny hearing his aunt Betty, trying to get the name correct. She was saying everything but turducken. After that we teased her a bit on it. ;) Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Day 23: Today I am thankful I'm not crazy enough to head to the Black Friday sales. I worked enough of them while I was at Walmart to get my fill of them. It was insane standing at the service desk watching people throw televisons right over other people. The kinda funny part is, usually in January all those electronics would end up right back in our store because something went wrong with them. Usually they were off brands that we only carried during "Black Friday".

Catching Up On Being Thankful

I'm a little behind on my days of being thankful. I've been pretty busy trying to finish up some sessions I have done this month. Trying to get them all done in time for my clients to view before Christmas. So here we go.......

Day 18: I am thankful for memories. Eighteen years ago on this day, three of my classmates were taken way to early. I remember waking up the next day to a phone call from my friend telling me that Ryan, Dean and Melissa had been killed in a car wreck on the interstate. Another friend, Emily was injured very badly. The following days at school were something many of us never thought we would ever have to experience. Our classmates seemed to realize that life could be taken at any moment, with out warning. We got stronger with each word of news on Emily. Her strength made us realize that we would make it through this and be even stronger. RIP Ryan, Dean and Melissa. Forever Class of 1996.

Day 19: On this day, I was so thankful for my chiropractor. Since having daily migraines for a few years now and finally getting some relief by seeing Dr. Toney, I know longer have migraines!! Woot Woot!!!! So, I look forward to seeing him just to keep those monsters at bay!!!

Day 20: Today I woke up to get back to editing, only to see that my battery was just about dead. I plugged it up the night before, yet still it was only at 4%. I switched batteries even tried different outlets. Still nothing. Finally one of the batteries slowly started to charge. I wanted to be sure nothing was going on, so I got ready and went to Murfreesboro to Best Buy and see Geek Squad! Thankfully the guy told me after taking the battery out and plugging it in and turning it on. He said "it's the battery." Woot Woot!! So glad I didn't have to leave it as I need it to edit with. I'm also thankful they didn't charge me either. ;)

Day 21: Today I am thankful for people who don't have stinky feet. I know this is probably a weird thing to be thankful for but hey its true. And I know everyone's feet smell at some point but whoa some people's feet can just about knock ya down. No matter if their shoes are on or not. You know what I mean. Its almost like you smell popcorn then figure out that no one has put any in the microwave. Only then you search for the source of the smell then figure out where its coming from.

Day 16 & 17 of Being Thankful

Day 16: I am thankful for the aersonal of migraine meds that I have. Its like choosing candy as to which one I want to take to put a stop to the headache trying to form.

Day 17: I am thankful that my migraine is gone!!! I've got a session later today and need to have my A game and not be in pain. Excited for Monday as its time for my chiropractor appt.

Day 14 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful for pajamas.......I have been in them all day! It feels great being able to just lounge around when you feel like poo! (If that is suppose to make you feel better, being in pjs all day long). Here's to hoping I will be feeling much better tomorrow.

Day 12 & 13 of Being Thankful

Day 12: I am thankful for our home! It shelters us from the wind, rain, snow and anything else mother nature decides to throw at. I know there are many in the world who do not have the comforts of a home and make the best with what they are given.

Day 13: I am thankful for the Vet. I know such a weird thing to be thankful for, but I am. I don't have to worry about taking care of 3 dogs and X amount of puppies and trying to find them homes. Yay for spayed and neutered pets!!! Please be a responsible pet owner and spay or neuter your pet.

Day 11 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful for our Veteran's!! Both past, present and those who choose to join in the future. I am very thankful for the sacrifice that each Veteran has made for this country!

This time last year I was in NYC with Chaz, Jessica and their cuties to participate in the Veteran's Day Parade! It was the most amazing experience! To be apart of it and seeing everyone come out just to say "Thank You" to these Veterans! I remember getting teary eyed quiet a few times. Especially with one Veteran on our float who stood up the whole time waving to everyone! Every once in awhile he would turn around and point to his jacket which proudly displayed his unit. He was so proud!!! Below are a few snaps I got, I hope you enjoy them.

Here he is waving to the crowd!

Here are a few photos I got before we stepped onto the float!

Finally we were on our float and off down the streets of NYC!!! It was awesome seeing everyone standing there with their signs held high! Here are a few shots I captured!

Day 9 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful for drivers who acknowledge and pay attention to runners! While running today, I had a car see me but still pulled out right when I was near her. This isn't the first time its happened. Running with a friend we had a car come over to us because he wasn't looking where he was going. I had on a bright yellow glove and waved at him, just trying to get his attention. He ended up turning around and asking us for if we knew where a house was. We both said "no" and kept running. When you are driving, keep watch for runners. We don't want our fun turning into a trip to the ER. Watch for Runners!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 7 & 8 of Being Thankful

Oops! Skipped a day......oh well, at least it wasn't a year right?!

Day 7: I am thankful for the option to hide people on Facebook! I can't tell you how many I have hidden. Its insane! Its the day after the election and boy were the posts flying about Obama winning! Here's my take on it....its over!! No point in crying over it, you voted and that is the most important thing! Complaining is not going to have the election be redone is it?! You may not agree with anything Obama has done, but he is still the leader of our country! Instead of complaining, pray! Pray that our leaders will finally start getting along and making this country work! God has a plan and we have to trust it! You can't let things you can't control consume your life!!!

Day 8: Today I am thankful for the medical personnel. On my way home today, there was an ambulance at the house of my former manager. He ended up having to be airlifted to St. Thomas. I'm thankful that his wife was there with him to be able to call the ambulance. He is such a great person, both of them are. It broke my heart seeing him getting ready to be put on a medivac! But even with him getting poked and prodded by the paramedics, he was still cracking jokes!

What are you thankful for today?!

Day 6 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful that it is FINALLY election day! No more receiving the political flyers in the mail. No more seeing the signs plastered every where, even though it will still be the end of the year before we see them all gone. I think if they aren't removed within a week, that party should be fined!! And most of all, no more rants on Facebook. I can't tell you how many people I have hidden from my newsfeed because just about every post made is some rant towards the election or the current President. Just VOTE people!! No need for all this posting on Facebook. I along with others, do not care who you vote for. I just want you to vote!!!!

What are you thankful for today?!

Day 5 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful for friends and thankful that some "friends" are no longer in my life!!

It always brightens my day to get a phone call or a text message from good friends. Today I was lucky enough to not only get one phone call but two from my buddy Jess. Its always great to hear from her and to have our little giggles at the craziness going on, especially in her life. ;)

Day 4 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful for John Deere riding lawn mowers. No it isn't because you no longer have to push a mower you can just ride it. I don't even mow our own yard. In the 7 years of living in our home, I think I have probably mowed the yard like 5 times. No joke. Ray says I take to long. It could be part of my mad plan to have him do it....hehe.

No, today I am thankful for it because it help to drag a deer that Ray killed out of the woods. Otherwise, I would have had to help. This morning he woke me up saying "I got a deer. But its not here." I said, "so I have to help drag it out, let me get ready." While I was getting warmer clothes on, he was out in the garage making some racket. He then rolls out on the lawn mower, minus the mowing deck!!! You see where I am going with this?! He loaded it on the trailer and we took off to my dad's house.

Here I am playing "deer hunter"

Here is Ray with his 8 pointer!!

And here is my hubby being a genius!!!! Who would have thought... a Deere pulling another deer!!! ;)

Here is a little video..... hehe

So now you can see why today I am thankful for our riding lawn mower. ;)

Day 3 of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful to be given the chance to run for a few heroes!! I am a huge Wounded Warrior supporter!! I love to support these guys who gave so much for us. Seeing Chaz get to "grow" during one of our trips to DC while he was at Walter Reed was the greatest thing ever! Since then, we have got to see him do the Army Ten Miler just 9 months after he was injured! Along with other milestones. Just his whole attitude about this is simply amazing! You would never think he lost his legs in Afganistain, his attitude is the same as it was when I met him before he deployed!!

Today, I did the Wounded Warrior Project 8k run in Franklin, TN. It was amazing seeing all those people there to show supporter for our warriors. The night before, I listed a few heroes in the "In Honor Of" section. Well, there just isn't enough room to list them all. Maybe WWP should have a bigger section. ;)

Once I arrived at Battle Ground Academy, it was just jamming! Here is the start/finish line.

The race started with the Wounded Warriors who were on bikes, then we were off about 10 minutes later!!! The course was pretty good, had a few hills but still good. I even took on those hills, no walking up them for me. I owned them. ;) I ended up finished the race in 1:05!! I was super excited about my time.

The best part of the race was seeing a man use his walker the entire 5 miles. He kept going with the truck following in behind him. As we would get closer, we would clap and encourage him to keep going. He in return would tell encourage us as well. Seeing him just made you kick it in gear and keep on running. Later I found out that he was a Veteran, he was the last person to cross the finish line in 2:38!!! Even though he was the last one, it just goes to show you that you CAN do anything you set your mind too. Your excuses mean nothing!!!!!!!!

This is him crossing the finish line!!!

Here are a few shots I got with my phone.
He was awesome too....he ran holding the flag.

If you are ever feeling down and out, I encourage you to take a look at the many, many Wounded Warrior Facebook pages and see what these guys are doing with their "new normal". I promise you won't anymore!!! You can see a full list of pages at www.facebook.com/GoTeamAllen

30 Days of Being Thankful

It's November!!!! I am going to attempt to do a post daily of things I am thanful for. I'm secretly hoping this will keep me to writing even after November has ended. ;) I'm also going to take a page out of a friends blog and not list God, Family or the Military as one of my being thankful for. I agree with Jessica that we should be thankful for those everyday! So here we go.......

Day 1:

Today I am thankful for finally being able to come off my medicine! Never did I imagine that I would be able to ever do this. Its going to be a new adventure, but I am super excited and very thankful to be given the chance to finally (after all these years) come off of it!!!

What are you thankful for?!
